Privatize the Post Office? Say, No!

From a friend:

Dear friends — This is one of those issues near and dear to me — and worthy of everyone’s attention.  Privatizing the mail service is WRONG (and anti-American, to boot!) for a plethora of reasons.  If you want to hear them, let me know.  In the meantime, sign this petition — and send it to other to sign, too!

In addition to a million other arguments against this move to make mailing services a private enterprise (some are listed below), just think about how much easier it will be to steal elections.  Many befuddled registrars of voters seem to want to convert elections to entirely vote-by-mail.  Can you imagine how much easier it will be to steal elections once we insert yet another insecure link in ballot delivery?
This has to command your attention — at least long enough to sign this petition and send it on to others.
Many thanks!

In my neighborhood our blue mailboxes were removed in recent weeks and mail carriers given even larger routes. When a downtown post office is turned into a private business, we all lose a basic and valuable public service, our fellow community members lose their jobs, the cores of small towns are hurt.  We must not allow this to happen, especially for the partisan ideological reasons that

I’ve signed and hope you will.  For Franklin and others the subsidized postal service was the best way to keep the new country informed, and self-informing.  Don’t corporatize it to see it die…
