Articles of Impeachment To Be Filed On Cheney

Looks like he’s reached his boiling point.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), the most liberal of the Democratic presidential candidates in the primary field, declared in a letter sent to his Democratic House colleagues this morning that he plans to file articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Many will applaud the Kucinich move and perhaps the fact of his introduction of articles of impeachement will be a useful move on the chessboard. As with much of what Kucinich does however, the idea itself may not translate into effective action. Notifying your colleagues of intent to file, without revealing to them what is in the document, much less trying to organize even a handful into support, signals much about the value of the move.
